Help Ms. Peragallo

Hello, I am currently a fourth grade teacher after teaching second grade for the last 7 years. I work in a high need community in a public school. I have 30 students in my classroom.

My students do enjoy reading and when I read with them, However, They like listening to the stories on tape because the readers have a variety of voices and music. My students will benefit from having ink for the printer so I may print work that they have completed or work that I have adjusted for the at risk students.

A tape recorder would be useful for a variety of reasons in my classroom. I use it for reading the stories in the textbook and the students listen to books on tape as an accommodation. We also listen to a variety of music during work time. I have had a cd cassette player for about 13 of my 15 years of teaching and this year it finally does not work anymore. I am fortunate enough to have a printer in my room so I may print things from my computer but it is out of ink and the school does not have the funds to replenish it. I print material that the students have completed to hang in the classroom and I also make worksheets that are adjusted for some of my at risk students.

Your help will allow me to continue to provide my students with reading enjoyment and accommodations for the low readers. It will also provide me the opportunity to continue exposing them to a variety of music genres. Providing ink for the printer will allow me to continue showing the hard work of my students to others as well as being able to make accommodations and print them for my at risk students.
