My Students

We are a diverse group with seven different languages represented in our room. Our class is part of a low income school where the majority of our students receive free and reduced price lunch. Our families consist of hardworking people who try their hardest to provide beautiful lives for their students. We are a tight-knit community of passionate learners overcoming language barriers on a daily basis.

My students are independent thinkers.

They celebrate uniqueness and individuality while respecting community. I am surprised and impressed by them daily. I find peace knowing they are the next generation coming up.

My Project

Good readers practice. My goal is to provide students with headphones and other tech accessories so they can independently practice reading and writing.

We have all been guilty of zoning out with the headphones on, totally engrossed in the music or videos or audiobook we may be invested in at the time.

My goal is to provide these tools for my students, so they may experience the joys of being consumed by literature, have a safe place to practice reading aloud, and continue to grow and develop their literacy skills.

By providing my student with styluses to use on our tablets, they will improve their dexterity, fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and handwriting.
