Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a large K - 8 urban school in a tough neighborhood. Poverty, violence, and sometimes hunger are challenges my kids experience every day. For many, school is the safe zone to learn and play.

My students really need headsets to help them use their Chromebooks in the classroom without disturbing others around them as they read books or practice math skills.

Every year it is our one big challenge to provide this school resource for every student. Please help them get this supply in the classroom so they can practice and apply these important skills for a lifetime of learning in a safe, encouraging environment.

My Project

Today, kids are most engaged when they can use technology to learn. All testing in the district or state is conducted on Chromebooks. So students really need to be familiar and comfortable using them. We are trying to create a quiet zone to allow this learning and exploring to happen.

The headsets you donate will help create a quiet zone for my students to learn or test with focus and without distraction.

Every day my students will be able to use these headsets as they read books, write reports, or practice math skills on the Chromebooks. They will be able to research for science and social studies projects, or hone their typing skills without disturbing other students. Technology will also help me create a more inclusive classroom as all of my students will have the opportunity to feel productive and accomplished as they learn.

Help my students learn how to use technology to help them become better readers, writers, mathematicians, and better informed about things around the world!
