Listen Up! We Love Books!

My students need to hear good readers! By allowing a listening station with wireless headphones, it's not a hassle to listen to good books!

My Students

Readers become better when listening to good, fluent reading. We have a listening station in our class, but the headphones get tangled, and it takes too long to pick up each time. By providing them a new listening station, it is fun and hassle free for everyone!

I have 22 students in my classroom.

They LOVE books and they are practicing everyday to become better readers themselves. Our school is a wonderful place that fosters the love of reading as well. One way to foster the love of reading is by listening to good literature on CD. This way, students can hear what good, fluent reading sounds like.

My Project

I teach students how to read through small group instruction. While I am teaching a group at my table, other students go to different stations around the room. When groups of students go to the listening station, the headphones are tangled, and the students come interrupt me to get help. If we had a great listening station, it would be easy to press play and put on the headphones to listen. It's a win win for everyone - teacher included!!

These donations of headphones and a portable CD player will make an inviting place to listen to reading.

The kids will be excited to go to this station and probably won't want to leave!
