My Students

My students first grade students in an urban district in southwest lower Michigan. My kiddos are energetic, enthusiastic learners! These first graders are eager to read, write, and build their brains. In first grade, we work hard every day!

For these kiddos, school is a safe place where they can learn and be safe.

They love having fun... and that's where YOU come in! Donating to my classroom adds those "extras" that help make learning fun and engaging every single day.

My Project

My students are budding readers and the best examples they can have for learning to read with fluency and expression is listening to other books being read with fluency and expression!

If you're like me, you rocked out in the 90s with your personal CD player and that's just what my students need to hear fluent, expressive texts being read!

Having personal CD players and headphones in class will allow my students to enjoy books being read aloud to them by using those CD players, not to rock out, but to rock their reading!

Having that model of fluent, expressive reading will help them become fluent and expressive too!
