My Project

This project aims to enhance student engagement and success in reading by providing headphones with built-in microphones. These tools will be integral in helping students improve their fluency and accuracy by using the program Amira. The ability to listen to stories, follow along with texts, and practice reading aloud will give them immediate feedback. By hearing their own voice and adjusting accordingly, students will gain confidence in their reading abilities and start feeling a sense of accomplishment with each milestone.

The goal of this project is to create an environment where students feel successful and empowered in their reading journeys.

With personalized support through technology, students can work at their own pace, allowing for individualized practice that addresses their unique challenges. Whether they're repeating a passage for better fluency or practicing word recognition through audio prompts, the headphones and microphones provide a way to make reading a less intimidating and more enjoyable experience. This project is designed to foster not just skill improvement, but also a deep sense of pride and achievement in each student’s progress.

What makes my students truly special is their love for learning and technology. They are eager to explore new tools and the integration of these headphones with microphones will tap into that enthusiasm. They are excited about the intersection of learning and technology, making them the ideal candidates for a project like this. By meeting them where their interests lie, we can create a fun, interactive, and highly motivating reading environment that keeps them engaged and helps them succeed.
