Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Pre-K students enter our classroom in September loving books and listening to stories being read aloud. Having a listening center with a portable CD player and books that are on CDs for students to listen to their favorite stories over and over again, would be a dream come true.

In our classroom, students listen to stories and go to centers every day.

This listening center would allow my students to listen to a story while learning and practicing how to hold and handle a book properly, basic concepts of print and new vocabulary words that are imbedded in each book.

My students are bright and active learners. I hope that by having a listening center in our classroom, students will continue to develop an appreciation and a love for books and reading.
