My Project

Headphones are a must in a classroom with computers. All students need good headphones to listen. My goal is to have every student have good headphones. While many parents do send in headphones or earbuds, they break, and in the time it takes to get new ones, students get behind. Or students don’t like the feel of the earbuds and prefer to listen using headphones. I want to be sure that no matter what, every student can hear the computer independently.

Each student will use good headphones to listen and learn.

At the end of each week, we have a reward time when students who’ve finished their work and have good behavior, can play games or use the computer for fun activities. I'm requesting LEGOS, magnetic blocks, Scrabble, chenille stems, and a sentence building board game to incentivize students to complete their work in class. The granola bars will help on those days when students need a quick pick me up before lunch or after a trying day. Imagine, ‘listen,’ if you will, what students learning and playing together sounds like.

The students will listen to new books to learn social skills, a must in today's society. The Little Spot books, about big emotions and how to manage them, will benefit students who experience anger, disappointment, and anxiety. That’s everyone!

Organization is an important life skill to teach each student. Using color coordinated folders for each subject is an easy way to organize Math vs Reading papers. A community mailbox makes it easy for students to pick up their finished work, and any missed assignments from days they’ve been out.
