Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my 3rd grade class this year I will have three students with special needs. The students enjoy books, but need some extra help with reading.

The students I work with come from a low income neighborhood in Texas.

I have the wonderful opportunity of looping up with my same group of students. I know the students love to read. The students in my class have a wide range of abilities. Two of my students are reading at a fifth grade level. A majority of my students are on grade level, but there are three of my students with learning disabilities.

My Project

I would like for these students with special needs to be able to enjoy books at their reading level and books at their grade level like their rest of their classmates. The MP3 players will allow the students to listen to the stories being read and follow along in the book. This will improve the students' comprehension.

The MP3 players will be beneficial to the learning abilities for my students that struggle with reading.

By being able to see and hear the books, these students will have a better understanding of the literature.
