My Students

Dr. Seuss My students need as many experiences in reading and listening to reading that I can offer in my classroom. Please give my students the opportunity to listen to rich stories on computer.

My school has a diverse group of learners.

There are families from different socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as ethnic backgrounds. Some of my students are ESL with limited English spoken at home, and some have limited technology at home. It is imperative for me to increase rich literacy opportunities in my classroom.

My Project

I need headphones for my listening center. The students will be listening to stories on the computer. The fiction and nonfiction books are leveled, and the students go to a book room and select the book they want to listen to. Listening to stories helps with fluency and decoding. They can also answer questions about the story at the end to check for comprehension.

Helping to fund the headphones will make a difference for my students.

Many of my students are below grade level in reading. Listening to stories is an engaging activity for students, and I want them to have as many experiences and great choices for reading in my classroom as possible.
