Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the words of Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” I’ve been blessed with an opportunity to help my students strengthen and develop their communication and language skills despite their different abilities. Whether they are engaging in aural rehabilitation or learning a new language system, my students are worthy of the best educational experiences possible. These students strive to succeed in their instructional environment whether it is in person or at home learning remotely. My students are from culturally diverse- low-income households across The Bronx and will benefit from any support possible.

Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand".

My students deserve an opportunity to express their ideas and imagination in a tangible way - a way that will ultimately allow them to express their creativity and a love of language as it relates to their academics and social-emotional lives.

They've experienced distant learning and engaged in minimal activities that would have otherwise cultivated their love of learning. The cricut machine will do just that! Please help me bring back their creativity! They will not only be allowed to create designs for academically related themes and lessons, but they will also create endless crafting possibilities to share with their friends and family members. Whether it be a simple "You're a great friend" post card or a "Happy Holidays" project, students learn best when they are engaged!
