Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My current students have multiple and complex disabilities, such as autism and deafness, requiring more creative lesson planning. Additionally, our young students are just learning how to interact with others since they were forced to stay isolated due to COVID restrictions. These youngsters have experienced limited opportunities to play with adults or children outside of their families, so we need toys that will be immediately fun and engaging.

Toys that incorporate lights, sounds and movements will entice my students to participate in developmentally appropriate play-based learning experiences, so they can build a foundation for communication.

These interactive musical and light up toys typically attract and maintain their attention for longer amounts of time than traditional toys or books.
