My Students

I teach a fourth group virtual class at a Title I, elementary school where the majority of my students are English Language Learners. Most of the students immigrated from China and come from a low-income household. At home they might not always have the additional help they need to help enhance their academic needs. Most of the students love coming onto Zoom and never miss a day because they find comfort in learning. However, during these uncertain times it is very hard to keep students excited and engaged in learning.

My students are creative, curious, compassionate, enthusiastic and unique learners who face many challenges every day.

Every morning they sign into Zoom with a smile on their face, chanting "good morning". I want to give my students the chance to overcome their challenges with new ways to learn. As their teacher, I want to make sure they learn in an enjoyable way.

My Project

Since many of my students are English Language Learners they need visual aid to help them learn. It is very hard to provide visual aid remotely. But because technology is such a big part of education today we as educators need to find different variants of teaching.

The document camera I am requesting will help my students view modeling in a better way.

When modeling a math lesson with manipulatives, it's difficult to project what I am doing since we are learning via Zoom. Writing lessons will be enhanced when modeling how to structure an essay. Students will able to follow along during a read aloud and better comprehend the stories. Overall this technology item will create more engaging lessons.
