My Students

My students are as young as four and as old as fourteen! I work in a PreK-8th-grade public school. I am one of the few teachers in our building that has the privilege of instructing all of our students! That is because I am the only Multi-Media teacher at our school! The students in my building are from various socio-economic backgrounds. Some of the students have learning and or physical disabilities. Some of the students recently moved to the United States. Some of them have one or both parents serving in the military. Several military students have parents who are currently deployed. Relaxing and reading in the library is a popular choice of many students. It gives them the opportunity to destress from their everyday school concerns as well as their home concerns.

Whatever their story is, they are always welcome in our school library!

My Project

Movie making experiences provide student collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking skills. It helps students connect their learning to the real world. Having a green screen and microphones will allow students to visibly display their thoughts and ideas. Microphones and green screens will be an essential learning tool in the Library. Students will be empowered to create storyboards of ideas, write scripts, make props, and work as a team to direct and produce movies. Students could create a virtual book report. They can then discuss or act out their favorite parts of the story, or even interact with story characters in the setting of the book. The project possibilities are endless!
