My colleagues and I teach at a Title I school in West Harlem. Many of the students receive free lunch. Our students come from various cultural backgrounds and have various learning needs from all over the world.
A lot of our students have been with us since Pre-K and it has been such a privilege watching them grow into the people they are today.
My Project
In addition to teaching, I'm also the advisor for our yearbook club this year! With students, we'll be working to put together a yearbook with memories from the year.
It is my hope that students will be able to look back on the memories they created this year and remember the joy in a year unlike any other.
These cameras will give students an opportunity to become photographers and capture their own images to appear in their yearbook. Students are so excited for Yearbook Club, and I'd love to have students involved in the creative process as much as possible. This means getting students behind a lens to capture those moments.
