My Students

Creativity is the key to success in the future, and primary education is where teachers can bring creativity in children at that level.-A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Having the resources to allow my current and future students to create a production will give them a life skill that they will never forget.

My students come from all over the world.

The level of diversity in my classroom is arguably one of the most diverse in the world. My students come from America, Korea, China, India, Mexico, and the list goes on. I am eager to create unifying experiences that can engage both their minds and social abilities.

My Project

My students need equipment to create movies like iPads, a green screen, lights, and a tripod. My students will be able to integrate art infused skills into their language arts, social skills, and English language development. The children will work in teams to record a theater production and with their iPads, green screen, lights and tripod they will gain the skills to edit their recordings with iMovie. They will learn about lighting, sound, acting, reading, and team building with the equipment from this grant.

Once the second graders have created their productions, they will have gained an immeasurable array of skills.

Students will be able to use their voice, work as a team, improve their literacy, language, and technology skills. They will understand how to record, edit, and add soundtracks, which will inevitably inspire many of them to look more critically at movies. Their classroom creations will be shared with their community as well.
