My Students

Teaching is more than just a profession, it's about the gift of teaching children to be well-rounded citizens and learners in our ever-changing world. I teach fourth grade in a small, rural town in upstate New York. Everyday, I strive to provide my students with an engaging, challenging, safe learning environment and the feeling to enjoy being in school.

My classroom is a place of challenge and high-expectations.

My goal is to provide students with skills to succeed in the future.

My Project

This year is quite unique and challenging. My school has both in-person as well as distance learners. As a teacher, I need to reach both of these groups during the same lesson. It is very difficult with the minimal technology available.

Due to social distancing, students are spread out throughout the classroom and it is difficult for them to see the examples that I am modeling or what I’m explaining for them to complete for practice.

I also have students with different needs and it is imperative for these students to be able to see and follow a model.

A document camera would help solve this problem. I would be able to project what I am modeling and it will be easier for students to see and follow along. Additionally, the document camera would provide my students with a better opportunity to learn and be successful.
