Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class has a wonderful group of 6th grade students that greatly enjoy using technology to explore, create, and learn about the world. Our school is situated in a historic neighborhood that was formed to provide housing for African-American veterans after World War II. We look forward to enjoying a wonderful physical and digital classroom. As a teacher, I have always tremendously enjoyed putting technology in the hands of students and providing an opportunity for them to create something wonderful. Educational outcomes are greatly improved when students are provided with support and the right tools to engage in inquiry based projects.

My Project

History is much more engaging when students are creating as well as learning.

One fantastic strategy for engaging students and improving learning is the creation of movies.

These projects can cover anything from an infomercial for one of the 13 Colonies to a sitcom taking place in Jacksonian America. With iPads, the possibilities are endless.

These iPads will allow our students to engage in a number of fantastic projects and share their creations with each other resulting in higher levels of student learning. Students will be able to record, edit, and share their projects all on one device! Thank you!
