This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I teach are from low income families. The majority are from Spanish speaking families & struggle with academics.
The Disney Musicals in Schools program allows these children to feel proud.
It gives them a chance to show that they aren’t differently abled but differently capable!
These students are resilient and loving and deserve it all. To hear them sing the songs as they walk home is the sweetest sound. This project will help them see it for themselves! Their show is May 30, 2019, so let’s help this year’s Aladdin cast see their show!
My Project
The students in my school have never seen themselves on stage. Do you know why? We have no way of filming them! Filming with an iPhone is no way to capture this memorable moment which is often the highlight of their elementary school years.
Providing a way to see themselves on stage will not only allow them to share their success with family members not able to make the performance, but they will be able to see what I see every year....they are AWESOME!
The boost in confidence is something that will last a lifetime. I hope we can make it happen.
