My Project

My students range from learning letter sounds in first grade to being reading detectives in third grade. We have really enjoyed implementing UFLI Foundations in my small reading intervention groups. The cool lamp with the shelves will help create a cozy ambience in my reading nook. I can turn off the harsh fluorescent lights and give a softer relaxing light. My student love using the finger lights while reading decodable passages because they are fun. The guided reading strips will help students focus on one line at a time while reading and not lose their place.

Reading should be fun and I want to instill a love a of reading in all my students.

Therefore, having a variety of tools to spice up the lesson and creating a space that encourages reading are important to me. My students earn stickers for their incentive chart for being on task and super reading. At the end of each month those stickers earn them a reward if they earn their goal.
