Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 9th grade English students enter high school eager to learn and succeed. I strive to create a nurturing and calm environment for learning.

Sometimes the stress of the day—or even the commute to school—can quickly overwhelm students.

This is especially true for students with sensory needs. Overhead fluorescent lights can be harsh and overstimulating. Lighting options like lamps and fairy lights will allow my students to learn in a more tranquil—and fun!—setting. On "rainy" days, my classroom will be safe and welcoming.
