My Students

Do you know how frustrating it is to have access to good technology that does not work due to a lack of supplies? Our class projector is sitting idle because it needs a new bulb. We cannot use the SmartBoard without it.

Our students are low income (Title I school) with many immigrant families from the islands of Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana.

Our school has a lot of good technology, but much of it is over 3 years old and in need of maintenance such as projector bulbs.

My Project

With a new bulb, we will once again be able to use the SmartBoard for interactive lessons that are so much more engaging for the students. Students can write, draw diagrams, create geometric shapes for math class, play interactive games that allow them to show understanding and get content from the Internet to help them learn using today's tools.

SmartBoards are really wonderful classroom tools and our school is lucky enough to have some.

However, without a projector, the SmartBoard is useless. Having a projector will allow us to bring the Internet back into the classroom. We do not have a computer for every student, so we must rely on being able to project the image from a single computer for students to use the Internet in class. Thank you for considering donating to our classroom. We really appreciate it.
