My Project

We're creating a library and reading atmosphere that invites students to explore existing and new interests. By adding furniture, pillows, lamps, and a nature-themed wall mural, we can create a comfortable, welcoming area where students can lose themselves in the stories of their heroes, people like them, and people they've never known existed.

When these high school students find that reading just isn't a school assignment, they will seek out books, graphic novels, and other types of literature that bring their reading levels closer to their grade level.

The goal is to expand their world and open their minds to ideas and people outside the Detroit area. These students don't have the opportunities that every student deserves. Help me show them what's in the world and they can be a part of it.
