This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I pre-kindergarten public school in Newport News. We have about 400 students in our school. Most of our students are at-risk 4 to 5 year old's. We have many students who are Dual Language Learners, Military and come from low-income households.
My Project
Our students need additional resources to practice math skills. All of these materials will be used in the classroom by the students during our center and choice time.
These materials will provide students with the opportunity to make patterns, count using 1-1 correspondence, sort and understand quantities.
These skills are practiced throughout our school day. The skills are part of Virginia's pre-k standards. Using the light table with materials gives our students a new and exciting way to learn these math skills. Please donate to help my students learn using light! Thank you!
