Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every semester I try to incorporate new ways to make changes to the physical space of my classroom to help my student's sensory needs. Students in the Autism spectrum or that have ADHD benefit greatly from a classroom that has soft lighting covers and bands on their chairs to help reduce over stimulation and self regulation.

Both of these small changes help reduce eye exhaustion from the fluorescent lights and feet movement options for forward facing chairs.

Being able to provide these resources will help my students have less sensory distractions, and a greater motivation to learn.
