My Students

I am fortunate to teach in an inclusive early childhood special education program. My class is composed of 3, 4 and 5 year-olds with and without a variety of special needs.

Together we discover that we all have something to contribute and something to learn.

Diversity is a strength. Together we have an opportunity to be more self-aware, more open-minded, and more compassionate.

I strive to have my students' first school experience be positive, engaging, and play-filled. I aim to create a classroom where social emotional skills are emphasized and practiced.

My Project

Light tables are a highly motivating means for learning. With this light table and the various educational accessories, I will be able to engage my students in learning about color, shape, numerals, sorting, comparison, patterning, etc. With use of this light table and its accessories, my students will build their foundational knowledge in a novel, hands on way. As a result of their multi sensory experience, my students will better retain what they have learned. And, best of all, they will have a wonderful time doing so. Help me illuminate this bright idea!
