Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching math intervention means working with students who may feel anxiety or stress when learning math. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable and relaxed enough to take educational risks (something that is very hard for middle school students to do). The physical classroom environment plays a huge part in achieving this goal.

Students must be able to work in a calm, soothing environment in order to succeed.

Lighting plays a huge role in this endeavor. Calm white lights will eliminate the harsh florescent lighting that can strain students' eyes. White backdrops for bulletin boards will eliminate loud colors of the current classroom environment.

My students want to succeed and improve their math skills. They are dedicated scholars who understand the importance of perseverance and determination. I would like to give my students the gift of a soothing classroom environment to help them achieve their goals.
