My Project

Too many times students dread coming to math class. They don't enjoy the expected worksheets or textbook problems. They find it dull, boring, or sometimes too hard.

Adding games to the math classroom makes it fun for all learners.

Games help students learn not only computational skills but also other skills that are important both inside and outside of the classroom.

Skills such as team work, following directions, and problem solving will serve the students long after they leave my classroom. Games such as these also show students that we can have fun even while we're learning.

Many students who went through COVID are lacking in their social skills. Interrupted learning caused students to spend more time alone; they were not able to practice working in groups and getting along with others. These games give students the chance to work together and participate in friendly competition while also working on specific math skills and problem solving techniques.
