Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 3rd-5th grade Life Skills, focusing on academics and functional, daily living activities. My special education students continue to amaze me with their progress, and I am grateful to have such hard-working students.

My students never fail to rise to my expectations day after day despite the challenges of coming from low socioeconomic status.

The materials I am requesting will allow me to create a functional environment that is effective for my students' learning. At this time, we cannot practice cooking which is a HUGE part of life skills and independent living. We need all the necessities to create a small kitchen.

With these kitchen appliances and utensils, I will give my students the actual Life Skills classroom they deserve to have! As a special education teacher, I aim to ensure my students can get real-life experiences, and this project will do just that!
