My Students

My students have taught me the simplicity of life. My classroom is a group of high school students with moderate to severe disabilities. The disabilities range from intellectual disabilities, orthopedic disabilities, vision impairments, and Autism. All of my students need extra supports to access their academics and social/adaptive skills. We also have a strong focus on skills that will benefit my students' life after they leave school, for instance, in the areas of work, schooling, life in the community, and daily living skills.

My Project

Using the Attainment Tasks Life Science Introduction kit will allow my students to gain knowledge of the world around them and about their own health. My students are interested in learning sciences, but it is difficult for myself to bring the curriculum to them when I do not have many resources.

The adapted curriculum will allow my students to explore the world and by reaching their academic needs.

This curriculum, will offer many experiences of reading, visuals, and hands on materials. My students will be able to connect their learning to their community and own self. I am excited to be able to use this curriculum for my current and future students.
