"All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten." Our school is an all kindergarten Title I school with 200 students and a 60% free/reduced lunch ratio. Our schoolwide theme for this year is Celebrating Children in our Community, Our Country and Our World.
We are learning about places and people in our community and we want to interview selected people and create a power point for students to view on the Smart Board. This will allow our students to participate in 21st century technology, learning through the design and creation of the power point. Students will choose places and people of interest to be a part of the video.
In order to create this meaningful learning experience for our students, we need a DVD camcorder. This project has multiple benefits for students: It will allow students to experience their community firsthand, participate in 21st century learning skills, and increase their vocabulary.
Your help will make it possible for our young students to become more proficient in the use of technology and learn about their community and its resources. Hopefully, the acquisition of this project will lead to an additional one that will involve a field trip to various sites around our city.
