Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I've been thinking about what it means to be a teacher, and my role in helping my students do their best.

When students enter my classroom every day, I try my hardest to meet a variety of their needs.

This could mean extra help on a tricky math problem, creating a support plan for challenging behavior, or securing resources that meet basic needs. This project will help me ensure that students' basic needs are met.

My Project

I am requesting first aid kits and snacks for the families in my community. I will offer the snacks to students who may not have eaten breakfast, who are still hungry after lunch, or could use an extra snack to carry them through the after school program. I will send home first aid kits with families who do not already have them at home.

The first aid kits will help ward off infection, and the pop tarts will help quell hunger.

Though these materials are tangential to learning, they are essential requirements to help my students remain focused in the classroom.
