My Students

While many of my students have appropriate undergarments for their personal lives, we have different expectations in the world of dance. My students are in the process of learning the importance of this notion.

Students immerse themselves a multitude of ways that push them to new limits and challenge them physically and emotionally.

My dance team is one of my favorite classes to teach because they are motivated and they really seek to push themselves to the limits. They have an incredible ability to soak up choreography like a sponge and their group dynamic is very caring and compassionate. My students are eager learners who are diverse culturally and socio-economically. Our school is a college preparatory high school in Southern California with a rigorous curriculum that is high-demanding. Students are expected to rise to the occasion academically despite social and financial obstacles that they may face. Our school is designated low socio-economic status and we are deemed a Title 1 school.

My Project

I am requesting camisole bras for my dance students. This is a life essential for participating in dance class because of the nature of what it means to dance. For a dancer, the body is continually moving and it is important to have full support during this experience. I would like my dance team to have these life essentials for dance. It is important for them to have appropriate undergarments because they need to be fully supported. It becomes a complete disaster when students are not fully covered and supported on stage. This not only affects the performance, but it also affects the students' overall self-esteem.

I would like to be able to provide a positive and memorable experience for my dancers and I am willing to contribute in any way I can.
