My Project

We're off to a great start this year! My kiddos are excited and nervous - but most of all, they are ready for our year-long adventure together. Our school focus this year is on hands-on science experiences - letting students experience the science topics we learn about.

This project is for butterfly and ladybug kits as well as plastic life cycle toys.

We are currently learning about observing nature. With these kits, my students will be able to see the stages of the butterfly and ladybug life cycle in action. They will see eggs hatch and caterpillars and ladybugs crawl out of the eggs. They will see caterpillars make chrysalises and transform into butterflies. While my class is anxiously watching this transformation, they can use the life cycle models to predict what will happen next and have a physical representation of the stages of the life cycle.
