My Students

Our school is a very special place and our students are no exception. Nestled in a busy Brooklyn neighborhood, our students come from all 5 boroughs of New York City to be here each day. They stay late, busy at clubs or other afterschool activities.

Our library-loving students are good-natured, curious and hardworking.

They had to be at the very top of their class to gain admission to our school. Our school is at 60% poverty, just shy of the Title I designation.

My Project

Students use the library for a wide range of purposes, and as librarians, we work to support the multi-functionality of the space.

Having easy access to popular games will further allow students to unwind and and spend quality time with friends, which is especially important at this stressful time of year, amidst testing and college decisions.

We are also hopeful that this grant will be able to support the daily library functions, as we regularly use scanners and label books for special sections. Working in such a large school, appreciate the opportunity to impact so many lives, and really appreciate the financial support and supplies that allow us to do so.
