My Students

Middle schoolers are the best schoolers! They are so full of excitement and wonder, eager to learn, think, and explore. Any time you step into our classroom hands are in the air full of questions and ideas - challenging their own thinking and each other's.

My goal is for our class of sixth graders to become authentic book-lovers.

As we move throughout the school year, reading becomes a source of excitement in our classroom; we have sign-ups and wish lists that take up the entire back door!

My Project

How do you turn 6th graders into readers? By having a library that reflects who they are and what they are interested in!

It is important that students have access to books that they can relate to; all children should be able to go to the library and be able to find texts that they can connect with.

My goal is to continue adding engaging texts to our classroom library that students will be excited to read. This project will help fulfill our wish list and add a variety of novels that students have been wanting to read!
