My Students

I am the librarian at an urban elementary school in Manhattan that serves an incredibly diverse group of students. We have students from all over the world, and one of the things they have in common is that they love to read!

I want to make sure my students have access to the newest and best graphic novels and books that keep them excited about reading!

I would also love to be able to let students check out several titles at once to make sure they always have a book. As of now, we simply don't have enough books for kids to be able to check out more than one at a time. More quality books mean more access and most importantly, more reading!

My Project

Students at our need access to the most exciting books to keep them reading! Help update our library with the newest and best of the best!

I would love to be able to fulfill student requests for a wide range of topics, particularly graphic novels.

Students who read graphic novels find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment - particularly reluctant readers! When students select a library book, I want them to be able to choose from a wide variety of options that interest them. The library can serve as the hub of a school and my goal this year is to update the collection so students can't wait to visit the library!
