My students need to find adventure and love of reading with books like Who was Babe Ruth, Who was Elvis Presley and Who was Dr. Suess! I think my students will love reading about science and interesting mix biographies . Some of the biography bundles included three selections.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students deal with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that they are dealing with , I am looking to ignite a love of reading and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Many do not even have books at home to read and enjoy. They truly never explore the non-fiction section of the library so this is a chance to put books about bats, space and famous people in our history into their hands. My students want to succeed - and I believe they can! I want to help them develop the love reading and learning!

My Project

Having these books will help since we use Accelerated Reader in the classroom which targets reading comprehension! Also , reports and reference materials could be gathered from these books too!t The books that are in my current library are limited and very old ! I need a better balance of non fiction and fiction. I picked a variety of both non fiction and fiction to satisfy the Common Core requirements. They need interesting books in a variety of levels to increase their love of reading as well as their comprehension. They also love biographies to connect to other's lives and accomplishments in the world. New selections would add excitement and adventure in the classroom.
