This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come into the classroom with smiles on their faces ready to start the day. We start the day with G.E., which tells each student they are special and can do anything they put their mind to.
I work at a Title one school with a high ELL population.
All of our students receive free lunch. We try to meet the students where they are; not to remove home language but expose literature. We believe each student can succeed with guidance and support!
My Project
My students need a library center for comprehension, concepts of print, retelling, and reading practice. The materials I am requesting will allow students to practice what they are learning during whole group time. My students will use the materials during literacy center time.
I am requesting a book organizer, felt board, and listening center couch.
In Pre-K, most children are not reading, so the library needs to have materials that help them feel like readers. I am asking for a felt board so the students can retell stories. The listening center couch will allow students to listen to their favorite stories. The book organizer will help students take care of books. Your donations will help students love reading. I can't wait to look over at the library center to see my students "reading" books.
