Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! They are very eager to learn and experience everything they can. They love to listen to stories and everyday get better at writing their own stories. They are fascinated with animals and learning about animals that lived in Los Angeles area long ago.

My students are all bilingual, not just because some of them come from a bilingual or bi-cultural home background, but because our school is dual language immersion school.

My students spend 70% of their school day, thinking, writing and speaking in Spanish.

My Project

Help me get quality Spanish books for our classroom library. With these books my students will continue to promote their love for books and reading. These books have been chosen carefully to include all the reading levels in the classroom and will keep them engage as they read independently, as well as books that meet their interests and will enhance their reading stamina.

The classroom set, Gracias a Winn Dixie, will be used to promote classroom discussions, promote bilingualism and open the door to discuss social-emotional well-being, which is so necessary, especially during these hard times.
