Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In our little school we have a diverse population of students.

The students love coming to the library, and I would love for our collection to represent all the students that visit.

Having materials that all of our students and parents can relate to is important. For this project, I am requesting books in different languages that students will be able to take home and read with their families. We have students from different countries that are excited to read, but our selection in other languages is very limited. I am also requesting a laminator for creating small posters to be on display in the library. These posters will help my students communicate with me and other students to help them locate and make requests. Having enough books in the library is important, but having books that represent other cultures is also important.

Ms. Menifield will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by January 24.
