My Project

To become proficient readers, students need the foundational skills to decode and comprehend texts. Guided reading is a student-centered approach that enhances student reading and helps them move forward. This approach will support my students to become independent and strategic readers.

This year, I hope to provide students with a variety of books in different genres to create interest while reading.

During our reader's workshop block, we have a designated time where I meet with my students to work on reading behaviors that students need to progress to the next level. These books will support my students with reading because they are differentiated in levels. They will also allow me to choose books that best meet the interest of my students and are at their reading level.
