My Students

My students love to read and cherish the books they get to choose. I now teach 2nd grade! In the past I taught kindergarten and 1st grade. I do not have leveled readers on the appropriate level to build fluency and comprehension. My students are eager to read books on their appropriate level.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are all in need of growth in the area of reading.

I pride myself on providing excellent books for my students to choose from and plan engaging lessons. Unfortunately the budget I am provided with by the school doesn't cover "luxuries" like a classroom library. Your support will get us books for now and will provide hours of reading for students in the future! My students will be able to take their precious books from school to home. This will allow them to practice reading at night with their parents. A lot of my students do not have access to books at home.

My Project

These leveled reader sets will provide us with a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. Students will be able to enjoy reading books on their level and interest. My students are fired up about reading. Having these books will bring excitement back to my classroom. Students will have so many books to choose from that they will want to keep reading each and everyday. Having these books will allow my students to share their love of reading with their friends and families.

These books will not only create an appropriate classroom library, but help us organize the books by the appropriate level.

In addition, these books will buy the teacher time to plan additional awesome lessons instead of constantly trying to sort and level books. Finally, these wonderful books will provide a literacy friendly environment! Your help is needed and most appreciated!!!
