My Students

My first grade students are very resilient and eager learners! They have overcome so many challenges this year and continue to come to school with a smile on their face (at least I think they are smiling behind their mask). They are the sweetest and most hardworking group of kids! They are so kind to one another and always do their best. We love to sing and dance in our personal space, read, write, add, and learn how to be at "real school" all day long!

My Project

My students are working hard to become skilled readers, after an unusual year in kindergarten. We have a limited supply of books that fit the reading levels and interests of my students.

A variety of reading options will help foster a lifelong love of reading.

My students have 10 books in their book boxes and trade them each week. With needing so many books, they are often getting the same books over and over. They would be so excited to have a larger variety of books to choose from each week.
