My Students

My students are creative, kind, and endearing children who love to learn. Most of them are from low socioeconomic households and qualify for free lunch. They are part of a Title I public school in New York City.

My students are English-language learners, with and without disabilities, and have a diverse range of interests.

My first graders are inquisitive and avid learners. They are inspirations to themselves and others around them. I am very proud of their perseverance, strive, and hard work. Please help me make sure they have the materials they need to keep learning and growing.

My Project

My first graders are excited to read! They feel so proud of themselves when they can read a book by themselves. They need more books that they can read on their own in school and at home.

By donating to the project, you are giving my students access to leveled books that would help expand their vocabulary, develop comprehension, and become confident readers.

My students need leveled texts in order to select books at just the right reading level. By having leveled reading books, my first graders will develop their reading skills and grow a love for reading!
