My Project

Hello! I teach Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in Monroe, Louisiana. My students are bright, curious, and full of potential. They come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn and explore the world around them.

Our classroom is a vibrant learning environment where we believe in hands-on learning and fostering a love of discovery.

We are passionate about incorporating technology into our lessons to engage students and prepare them for the future. I strive to make learning fun, engaging, and relevant to their lives. We do a lot of group projects, discussions, and real-world problem-solving.

My students are incredibly excited about learning to code! We've started exploring the basics of coding through block-based programming platforms like Scratch and Code.org. They are absolutely loving creating their own games, animations, and interactive stories.

However, our access to technology is limited. We currently only have access to two shared computers in the classroom/lab, which makes it difficult to provide all students with consistent, hands-on coding experiences. This means students have limited time to practice and develop their skills. Often, they have to take turns, which reduces their engagement and slows down their learning.

To truly unlock their potential in coding and computer science, we need two dedicated laptops for our classroom.

* Increase access to coding resources: More students will be able to code simultaneously, allowing for more in-depth exploration and experimentation.

* Enhance collaborative learning: Students can work together on coding projects more effectively.

* Spark a passion for STEM: By providing them with the tools they need to succeed, we can ignite a lifelong love of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
