My Students

My students are the definition of resilience and Houston Strong. The majority of my students are at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth, yet these labels do not stop my students from chasing and achieving their goals. Many of my students come from single-parent homes and will be the first in their family to receive a high school diploma. The students within my classroom can be productive and successful citizens of the United States with a little help and guidance.

My students are smart, intuitive, and very eager to learn in a variety of ways.

Our middle school is composed of students with a thirst for learning and eagerness to become productive citizens.

My Project

We are starting different clubs after school and I have decided to start a SPORTS CLUB for the middle school students at my school. We have seen how PBIS has changed the culture during school time and we are trying to introduce this to the SPORTS CLUB for after school. Students in my classroom desperately need these kinds of things to motivate them in a post-COVID classroom. Schools that have implemented school-wide PBIS have reported improved school climate, improved student achievement, reduced suspension and referral rates, increased attendance, and increased family participation. I will use Amazon gift cards and snacks as part of the reward system for students who show leadership potential, an increase in attendance, and model character behavior. With your donation, I will be able to see a shining improvement that will light their path to success. Thank you.
