My Project

At Barack Obama Elementary School, we believe that strong handwriting skills are essential for building a solid foundation in literacy. In my kindergarten classroom, early writing instruction plays a crucial role in helping children develop fine motor skills, letter recognition, and the confidence to express themselves through writing. To support this critical area of learning, I am seeking funding to purchase handwriting workbooks for my young learners.

These workbooks will provide structured, engaging activities that guide students in forming letters correctly and developing proper pencil grip and hand control.

By providing each student with their workbook, we ensure they receive consistent, focused practice that builds toward fluency in handwriting—an essential skill for success in reading, writing, and overall literacy.

In a world where digital communication is becoming more prevalent, the ability to write by hand remains a fundamental skill. Studies show that the physical act of writing letters helps children improve their reading comprehension and spelling, making handwriting a vital component of early literacy education.

Your generous donation will go directly toward purchasing these workbooks, which will not only support the academic success of my students this year but will also have a lasting impact as they move through their educational journeys.
