Help me give my students resources to improve their writing skills. Using the "Getting to the Core of Writing: Essential Lessons for Every Third Grade Student," will help both myself and my students learn to write correctly.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The wonderful students who attend my school are located in a high poverty, urban neighborhood. Many of them live in single parent households with that one parent working two jobs. Others live with grandparents due to unfortunate circumstances through no fault of their own. They have tough lives but still seem to be happy kids. My greatest goal for my students is to create children who desire to read. With this goal, everything else will just fall into place. Without this, they will struggle in many areas throughout life.
My Project
For years I have felt like there was something missing in the whole "reading" block of my instruction. Students could read but still had great difficulty on standardized testing. I started thinking that maybe writing is the missing link in their literacy development.
Through this project, my students will get the proper writing instruction needed to make my reading block complete.
Using the writing resources included in this project will help my students to become better writers, which in turn, will create better readers.
Additionally, using several language arts resources will boost my students' understanding of basic written communication. This will help add enhancements to their writing composition.
