My Project

As our year is starting to come to a close, we are starting to help our 2nd graders get ready for third grade. One way we do this is by helping them look at nonfiction books as reference books. We use these nonfiction books to help us write nonfiction research reports. In reading workshop, students will read nonfiction books about insects. They will then write about the things that they learned in writing workshop.

These insect books will help students create writing pieces where they are learning to use reference materials to help them get facts.

I am excited for my students to learn about insects and the process of using reference books to help them enhance their nonfiction writing. The books I am asking for are a variety of different levels, which will allow all of our students to access them.
